The Cosy Canal Boat Dream
This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews Thank you to HarperImpulse for letting me be part of this tour. I've previously read one of Christie's books and I loved it so, when I saw this one on Netgalley I had to request a copy. I was thrilled to also be asked to take part in the tour.
I won't say too much on the story because when, I read the prologue I had so many feels and I don't want to ruin that for anyone. I will give you a little warning that you may want some tissues nearby.
Christie does an excellent job of describing Little Rock Marina. I loved the Melting Pot, if had one in my local area I would definitely be there everyday, although that would probably not be good for my waistline.
There were many different elements to this story but Christie found a way to blend them seamlessly so that you did not feel like you were reading many different stories.
Nell has a good bunch of people around her and I really loved Bea. She is such a warm and upbeat person that you can't help but want to be her friend. These two would do anything for each other. I think every one needs a Bea in their life.
While Nell does have a love interest in this book I would say this was part of the B story. The story was more about Nell and the project she knows will heal her.
There were quite a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Christie enjoys throwing me off my game, I think.
Christie will make you laugh and cry with this book. When I finished it I had a big smile on my face.
