This was a very sweet cute romance story. I did find some of the characters' choices were quite different to what I would do. She has been through the mill with her husband and her friend having an affair. I liked Thea, she is funny and real. You see the real emotions and feelings about the affair and how she moves on from it. She is smart and quick-witted. I think we would be quite good friends I'd love to go for a coffee with her.
Edward is a grump. Plain and simple he doesn't really like people, especially women. As the book progresses we see why Edward is the way he is. He has put up a lot of walls but thankfully Thea manages to knock them down.
The setting is fantastic. It's absolutely beautiful. When the pandemic is over I am hoping to visit more places in Scotland. There are so many beautiful parts that I have heard or read about that I really want to see.
This was a good debut story and I look forward to seeing what comes next from Jackie.
