Romancing My Love
This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you so much to JB for letting me take part in this tour.
If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know that I adore Melissa's Love in Bloom series. The Bradens were my first love, then came The Remingtons, now we have the Braden Cousins and the Seaside gang and they all have a tiny piece of my heart. Writing this review has to be the hardest review I have ever written. Now this is not because I didn't enjoy the book because I love it. Every single page from start to finish. It was hard because of the emotions it brought forward. While I love all of the Love in Bloom series I think this one will hold a special place in my heart forever.
Rebecca or Becca is a strong, independent woman. She has been to hell and back and some how come out the other side. I lost my Mum when I was quite young and I could identify with all of the things that Becca was feeling. I still find it difficult to talk about and telling people is hard. I understood her issues with pity. Yes I miss my Mum and if I could I would obviously bring her back but I have a great family and we all got through it together. My Step-mum is my rock and without her I don't know if I would have survived, I don't know how Rebecca survived those weeks on her own before she met Pierce. If I was in her situation I don't think I would have made it out of bed. Hell I didn't make it to school for a long time after I lost my mother and I wasn't alone.
Pierce is your typical Braden. Tall, dark and handsome. He's also a bit of a control freak. His dad left when he was 7 and since then he's been trying to control everything so that he never feels that level of pain again. What he didn't realise was that while he was doing this he blocked off his heart. I loved seeing Pierce be put in his place by Rebecca but I also loved how they both grew as their relationship developed.
It was great to catch up with Treat and Max. I really love their relationship and seeing it grow right from Lovers at Heart until now makes my heart swell. It was really great to catch up with Pierce's siblings as well. I really like Emily and I can't wait to learn more about her in Dreaming of Love.
