This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews As soon as I finished the first book I jumped right into this second book. This book picks up right where the first one ended. With the first book ending in such a cliffhanger, I was grateful to be able to dive straight into the second book.

I enjoyed the first book in this series but I LOVED this second book. The pace was spot on and

The chemistry and teasing between Poppy and Hawke is off the charts. Their relationship is so good. I really enjoyed seeing this develop over the course of the book. I wish some things hadn't needed to be rushed but I understand why. If you love an enemies to lovers story then this series is for you.

I loved seeing Poppy go from the wallflower maiden to the strong leader. As she learns that everything she has been told is a lie she vows to expose the truth. Once her eyes are opened she proves that they have underestimated her time and time again.

Kieran, oh Kieran! I love this guy! We NEED a book for Kieran! He is so funny. I love the relationship he has with Poppy. I'd love to delve deeper into his character there is so much there.

The narration is excellent. Stina knows just how to pitch her voice for the right level of suspense, excitement and danger. Stina really made this story come to life.

As with the first book this one ended on the BIGGEST cliffhanger so make sure you have book 3 before you get to the end I mean unless you love being tortured!
