Deep Work

Newport convinced me that the ability to do deep, focused work is becoming rare and therefore increasingly valuable. The case studies (Jung's tower, Mark Twain's writing shed) are fascinating but the real value is in the practical rules section. I implemented the shutdown ritual and time-blocking immediately. The social media chapter hit hard — I was spending 3+ hours daily on TikTok and Instagram. Paired perfectly with Essentialism. These two books together rewired my productivity.
