Jewell plays with the podcast format brilliantly — the interspersed transcript excerpts and listener reactions create this meta layer of dramatic irony where you know more than the protagonist but still can't look away. Josie is one of the most unsettling characters I've ever encountered because she's so ordinary on the surface. The slow reveal of what she's actually doing is masterful. The ending left me uneasy for days, which is exactly what a good thriller should do.
