I picked this up because BookTok would not shut up about it and for once they were right. The first half I thought I had it figured out — classic unreliable narrator setup. Then that Part Three switch? I literally put my hand over my mouth on the train. McFadden plays the reader like a fiddle. It’s not literary fiction but it does exactly what a thriller should do: make you unable to stop turning pages. Read it in three days.
