Not as tight as Fourth Wing — the pacing drags in the middle section and there are a LOT of new characters to track. But when the revelations start dropping in the last 150 pages, it all clicks. The politics between the wards and the venin threat adds real stakes beyond the romance. Xaden and Violet’s relationship is messier here and honestly more interesting for it. That ending though — I threw my phone.
