I stayed up until 3am two nights in a row for this. The world-building is intense — the Empyrean system, the bonding, the power tiers — but what got me was how Violet never felt like a token strong heroine. She was scared and still showed up. That scene on the parapet? I was shaking. And Xaden... I have no words. The tension between them is the kind that makes you set the book down and stare at the ceiling.
