I had really mixed feelings about this one. There were parts I genuinely enjoyed and the isolated lighthouse setting was probably my favourite thing about it. It felt dark, claustrophobic and unsettling, and I liked having an actual mystery and danger outside of the romance.
I also enjoyed the tension between Sawyer and Enzo and there were definitely moments where I was completely hooked. However, some of the sexual and consent elements made me uncomfortable in a way that wasn’t particularly enjoyable for me, even as someone who normally loves very dark romance.
I think that’s ultimately what stopped me connecting with it more. I liked the story, the atmosphere and the darker mystery, but I didn’t become attached to the romance or characters enough for it to really stay with me afterwards.
Definitely had some great moments, but overall it landed somewhere in the middle for me.
