This book cover and story grabbed my attention. So I figured to give it a shot, and honestly, I wasn't disappointed. It showed the characters in the best way and it gave each character a part. So that even though there or many? I felt that the writer gave each character its right. And its depth.
I didn't know anything about the conditions of the japanese people in that period so it was a new thing to me, and I sympathized with the Japanese people living in America throughout the perfectly chosen words by the writer.
Also, the conflict was great to me. The decision you have to make choosing your mother country or the country. That you lived on your whole life. It's a tough decisions and the Americans, people or the white people didn't make it an easy choice. The people who wanted for the Japanese people who wanted to be on the American territories and represent the Americans.
Despite me mentioning that they gave each character, its part, some characters were a bit neglected in favor of others. And I thought they weren't equally represented.
The ending was great and I don't have anything against it, but I felt that Twichie's part was a bit longer than the necessary.
