Kobo Integration

Your Kobo library,
synced to BookStreak

Your purchased books, reading time, and shelves — synced automatically. No cable, no plugin, just a 6-digit code.

Your Kobo data, unlocked

Your book on your home screen

Current read, cover, and progress on your phone's home screen widget. Your reading life follows you from your Kobo to your pocket.

Highlights from every book, searchable

Every annotation and highlight you make on your Kobo syncs to your phone. Search across all your books, resurface passages months later.

Your Kobo shelves, organized

Map your Kobo shelves to genres, collections, or reading statuses in BookStreak. Your shelf structure carries over automatically.

Insights from real reading data

Reading pace, streaks, and genre breakdowns from your actual Kobo reading time. Not estimates. Insights build from the day you connect.

Your reading data stays yours

Data travels through Kobo's own API. No telemetry, no ads, no social pressure. Your data is encrypted and never sold.

Frequently asked questions

Which books sync with cloud sync?
Only books purchased from the Kobo Store. Sideloaded books (ePubs, CBZs you added yourself) are invisible to the cloud API. For those, use KOReader's built-in real-time sync or import via USB.
What about sideloaded books?
Use KOReader for built-in real-time sync of sideloaded books, or import them manually via USB with the KoboReader.sqlite file.
How often does it sync?
Every 2 hours automatically. You can also tap "Sync Now" in the app for an immediate sync.
Why does my earlier reading show as fewer sessions?
Kobo shares where you are in each book and your total reading time, but not which days you read. When you connect, BookStreak places your earlier reading on the last day you read each book and on the days you highlighted in it. From then on, BookStreak checks every 2 hours, so each day you read gets its own session.
Can I use both cloud sync and USB import?
Yes. Cloud sync handles Kobo Store books automatically. USB import adds sideloaded books and any data the cloud API doesn't cover. They complement each other.
How do I disconnect?
Go to Settings → Kobo Store → Disconnect. Your synced books and reading data are kept. To fully revoke access, also remove BookStreak from kobo.com → My Account → Devices.
Is my Kobo password stored?
No. You sign in on Kobo's own website during activation. BookStreak receives an API credential, never your password. The credential is encrypted at rest.
