I loved it. H. J. Garbett’s debut novel expertly blends mystery and witty black humour.
The incipit is great and it glued me to the page.Unfortunately, as the story goes by, the pace gets slower, affecting my reading experience; that’s the only reason why I gave four stars instead of five.
Fran, the psycho who is not so psycho (or at least, that’s what she tells herself) and Gareth, the cinnamon roll cop and husband are great characters, and I really rootes for them.
The ending is quite predictable, but I enjoyed it anyway.
